I remember when I ordered a motherboard to replace one in a computer several years ago. I had never replaced something like that before. I got all the stuff out, replaced the board, put the stuff back in. After hitting the power switch, NOTHING happened!! After trying to figure it out, I saw the machine was not plugged in. That was a relief though.
The one I have now is a Pentium 3 1Ghz with 512MB RAM, 80GB drive, dvd player, cd burner, 250 zip drive, a ATI Radeon SDR card, and a Sound Blaster Audigy card. (I know it is out of date now, but it works)
The components in this computer are different ages. I got the zip drive in March of 2000 for another computer. The cd burner I got in November of 2001, but just did not take the zip drive out even though I practically never use it now. The hard drive is a Western Digital from December 2001. The dvd player is a Creative Labs I got in December 1999. The sound card and video card are from around October or so of 2001. The printer is from late February or early March of 1999.
I have no plans of buying more components for a while unless stuff starts breaking on this one.
